Monterey, CA :: The first time we met Matt & Laura was when we did their Engagement photo session in Santa Cruz and we hit it off with them right away. These two are always full of smiles, laughs, ideas, and basically just a wonderfully easy couple to spend time with. We already knew their wedding day at the Old Whaling Station was going to be an exciting continuation of what we’d already experienced with them, and with the addition of their friends and family, it was truly a wonderful day that was a joy to photograph.
The following photographs were effected by a camera technique I have lovingly dubbed “Stein-blur“. It is a process of using the correct balance of flash and ambient lighting, a slower shutter speed, and using some hand motion while taking the photo. (It has some similarities to a Photoshop effect I’ve done in the past, but the intensified lighting and smooth blur are never as vivid afterwards in post production.)
