Kelowna, BC, Canada :: Let me start by saying this girl is one gifted young lady! She really does make my job easy, and of course I love it when I can work with someone and they are such a natural in front of the camera. This girl has done quite a few modeling shoots in the past, so I knew it wasn’t going to be a difficult shoot. When I talked to Mackenzie about doing a shoot with her…I really wanted to do a cowgirl themed shoot. We thought up of many ideas, but then we had to think about the horses and where we could have access to them. Mackenzie’s mom works with a lady that rescues horses and has a nice lot with horses of many colors and personalities. Once we got connected with the owner of the horses, everything was set!
On the day of the shoot, it was super hot outside and we were sweating in the sunshine, but the horses loved all the attention, and loved to get in front of the camera. We weren’t sure if the horses would work with us at first, and pose when we needed them to, but it didn’t seem like they needed much direction. They would just follow the camera and it worked out perfectly! You know when you are working in the bright sunlight, you try to do what you can with what you know since you can’t see what shots you are taking. HaHa In my head I already knew the manual setting I would normally use when it comes to bright sunny days, and so that definitely helped, and the shots turned out FANTASTIC. Thanks Mack for being such a great model and working with me on this particular shoot!
